Why? Indonesian mobile has suffered from heightened competition recently as Telkomsel attempted to draw a line in the sand as a result of challengers' foray into ex-Java. However, recent commentary and price increases in starter packs suggest that the competitive dynamic has alleviated somewhat, with operators anticipating an improvement towards the second half. It is therefore a key time to try to understand if the market is finally going to be repair post-consolidation or not. Additionally, we intend to discuss, Fixed Mobile Convergence, impact of the XLSmart merger, the planned 700MHz and 2.6GHz auction and Danantara's (the Sovereign Wealth Fund’s) impact on Telkom Indonesia to try to understand if market earnings are inflecting, and who is the likely outperformer going forward.
