Post our recent virtual encounter with the Japanese operators (Notes HERE), we moved Softbank Corp back to our preferred pick. This is premised on Softbank's operational outperformance and the fact that the Japanese mobile market is increasingly favourable given the trajectory of price increases which means ARPU is likely to steadily rise from here. Beyond its core telco units, SoftBank reported a strong Q2 and outlined better than expected Enterprise and Distribution revenue targets as they start to monetise Cloud and the JV with OpenAI. The call will cover all these issues as SB Corp transitions from a telco with digital assets to digital first.
