The State of Litigation Challenging the Tariffs with Colorado's Attorney General, Phil Weiser
NEW STREET RESEARCH US Policy Analyst, Blair Levin, will be hosting a call with Colorado's Attorney General, Phil Weiser, to discuss the state of litigation efforts challenging the legality of the Trump tariffs on THURSDAY, MAY 15TH, 12PM ET.
As the markets continue big swings based on the latest, contradictory, and unpredictable statements coming from the White House on tariffs, there is an underappreciated and somewhat more predictable element in play: litigation challenging the legality of the tariffs. On March 13, the Court of International Trade will have the first substantive argument on whether the Trump Tariffs are legal. One of the plaintiffs challenging the legality of the tariffs is the state of Colorado. We are extremely fortunate to have Colorado's Attorney General, Phil Weiser for a call to discuss the state of the litigation, addressing, among other things:
- Why did the states bring the litigation?
- What cases and courts should investors be watching?
- Why are some cases in regular courts and why are some in the international court of trade?
- How did the hearing go on the 13th and what happens next?
- How long will it take for the cases to play out?
- How would the announcement of deals affect the courts' view of the litigation?
